There is no shortage of Easter activities for kids this time of year...
The Easter Bunny made several appearances at local parks and malls. Buddy Roller had a chance to see him twice this year. At some retail stores, bunny ears, balloons and other treats were generously passed out to the youngsters.

As a family, we attended Easter service at our church on Good Friday, one of the six services offered this weekend for the holiday that typically attracts large crowds. With so many fun activities leading up to Easter Sunday, it's easy for the little ones to miss its true meaning. We make sure Buddy Roller understands that while he does have fun hunting for eggs, the true significance of Easter has everything to do with Jesus and the ultimate price he paid for our sins.
On Sunday, we were invited to our friends' home, the Smiths, for lunch and an Easter egg hunt. As always, they did not disappoint as they pulled out all the stops for this memorable occasion. Decorative Easter bunnies and signs lined their driveway and front lawn.
Not only were cookies decorated, but eggs were adorned as well.
As one would expect, there was a plethora of food but my absolute favorite of the day were these carrot cake cupcakes frosted with cream cheese icing, and garnished with popular Peeps and candy-coated pretzel balls. These delicious treats were made by the very talented and gracious, hostess with the mostest, Mrs. Smith.
The kids were in for a big treat as at least a hundred eggs, stuffed with sweet treats and play money, were hidden all over the front yard and in some very secret places.
First the kids lined up for some rules. Ready?
Set.
And....he's off.
Buddy Roller had himself a ball! He searched with great enthusiasm and eagerness for each egg, especially the golden eggs of which he found two.
After the hunt, he took great care going through his treasures of chocolate, jelly beans, life savers, and play money.
With help from The Hubs, together they tallied up the grand total.
$183 in play money!
All in all, it was an enjoyable Easter weekend and an eggstra-special egg hunt.
Happy Easter!
