What Is the Appropriate Age?

I have some burning questions for you today.

At what age would you let your son or daughter...use a public restroom on his/her own? Stay at home alone? Go on a sleepover? Go to sleepaway camp for the weekend or even a whole week? Get a cell phone?

Treasure the Moments - The Bubble Run

Initially the boys weren't so happy about an early morning race!

I truly credit this book with reminding me of something important. Do the things that make you happy, even if you're initially met with resistance (from your family!)...

Mommy Moment - Parent Conference

A "mommy moment" happens in many different ways. There are moments, as a mom, where you feel your most happiest.  When you witness your child doing something that just makes your heart smile. There are also those moments when your child teaches you a lesson, makes you laugh out loud, or totally embarrasses you. And then there are those moments when your child makes you so proud, you can't help but get emotional.  I had one of those moments today...

Be True to Yourself

I recently ordered these MantraBands to wear as a daily reminder of what's really important...choose love, and be true, be you, be kind.  Sometimes we get so busy with our daily lives that it's easy to lose focus, and this week I did just that. I lost focus...

On Parenting

Last week, I attended this art thing that one of the teachers at my school was hosting. It's like one of those sip and paint deals where you create your own "masterpiece" from start to finish while snacking and hanging out with friends. Only, we didn't just get to work with paint...we also used a lot of different mixed media which put a whole new spin on things.

Anyways this got me thinking.  An artist starts with a blank canvas, and can put a lot of thought and planning into it, never truly knowing how it will turn out. Parenting is kinda like that.  You plan, and you dream. You make sacrifices, you toil, you teach, and you learn.  You do the best you know how, and you hope for the best, but sometimes you never know what you're gonna get, or how things will turn out...

Spring Has Sprung!

I know spring doesn't officially get here for another week, but you can't tell that to us Atlantans. Spring has already sprung here in the A-T-L ya'll!!!

Buddy Roller are I are totally soaking up the warm rays that have already made their way here. We had some much needed mother-son time due to a day off from school on Friday (thank you!), and we did what we love most. We slept in (thank you again!!) and met with some friends for a play date at the park...then we moseyed on over to the bookstore and had a frozen treat (thank you, thank you!!!) with all the yummy toppings.

Happy almost spring!
