The Last Romantics

Don't let this title fool you. This book is not just about romantic love as the title implies, but rather it's about all kinds of love. Messy love. True love. Conditional love. Weak love. And most certainly, this book is about the failures of love...

What Have You Missed Most?

What is the first thing you'll do when this quarantine is lifted?

Are you just dying to eat out at your favorite restaurant? What loved one or friend will you see first?

I've really missed eating out. Of course there's still take-out, but it's not the same as sitting at a table and having a hot meal placed in front of you. I love cold and soggy fries...said no one ever!!!

My family and I miss our trips to get our favorite burgers and fries. I love mine dressed with onion straws, jalapenos, cheese, lettuce, tomato, ketchup and mayo.  I know this is something we're all looking forward to, especially Buddy Roller who always gets a root beer float.

I've been dreaming of tacos, chips and salsa!

And...I really miss spicy Indian food! My friend and I love to visit this restaurant and have their lunch buffet.  I don't typically do buffets, but I made an exception for this place.  We always eat way too much and hardly have any room left for their delicious rice pudding and flan.  This comfort food always hits the spot!

Meet Kyle Laman. We share the same family name, but I've never had the pleasure of meeting him. Not yet, anyway.  Kyle is 15 years old, and thank God, he is one of the survivors of the tragic school shooting in Parkland, Florida...

Three Things about Black Panther

Have you seen the movie, Black Panther? We saw it yesterday, and I found myself thinking about it hours later. Almost like having read a good book and wanting to discuss it with friends. Here are three reasons why...

Thinking of Parkland

Since Wednesday, I haven't been able to get Parkland out of my mind.  I keep thinking of the entire community, the students, teachers, parents, the victims, those who survived, and those who didn't...

Treasure the Moments - The Bubble Run

Initially the boys weren't so happy about an early morning race!

I truly credit this book with reminding me of something important. Do the things that make you happy, even if you're initially met with resistance (from your family!)...
