So a student returned to school today after being absent for two days. He was visibly and extraordinarily tanned as he approached me with a pep in his step this morning.
Our conversation went a little something like this...
Me - Where have you been?
Student - I was at the beach.
Me - You were! Wow. And you missed school!
Student - I wanted to swim.
Me - Ooookay...
Then he proceeded to hand me a note from home. And that's when things got a bit more interesting.
The note explained that he had missed two days of school because he was...get this....sick!
Hmmm.
Was he sick? Or at the beach?
Sick...? Beach....?
