Three Little Birds

 

Yesterday a dear friend gifted me a beautiful delicate necklace. It had three little birds sitting on a branch...

And it got me thinking about how powerful the number three is. There were, of course, the three wise men.  The number three also signifies a beginning, middle and end. A mother, father and child - just like my family. Biblically, it also represents God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

As soon as I held the necklace in my hand, I immediately thought of Bob Marley's song, Three Little Birds. How three little birds pitched on a doorstep one morning, singing a beautiful melody, reminding us all not to worry. That "every little thing, gonna be all right." I've always loved this song!

Three little birds also remind me of the African proverb that says, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” We need each other. We are not meant to do this life alone. Especially during these uncertain times. 

Hoping you are all doing okay this new year and that you have your tribe close by, to lean on, to support you and encourage you when life gets too tough.

Hang in there. There are better days ahead.
